Campbell River RCMP received a report that a large cinder block was thrown through the front windshield of one of Merit Home Furniture’s delivery trucks at 12:55 p.m. on Aug. 21.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Campbell River RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
Heavy rain accident
Campbell River RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision at Petersen Rd. and Cheviot Rd. at 2:26 p.m. on Aug. 22.
The vehicle slid off the road due to heavy rain and struck a power pole, moving it six inches. BC Hydro attended. The driver did not suffer any injuries.
Teen party break-up
Police responded to a fight in the street on Kalmar Rd. at 12:26 a.m. on Aug. 23, which stemmed from an out of control teenage drinking party. Officers took one male and one female into custody who were fighting in the street. They were later released to their parents. An underaged female had a party with over 100 teenagers present when her parents went away for a camping trip.
Police assisted in disbursing the teens without incident and the youths were released to parents without charges.
Police received a complaint of a stolen BMX bicycle from outside Walmart on Aug. 23.
The bike has Reebok written on blue handle bars with a lime green lock and two pegs on the black tires. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Campbell River RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
Campbell River RCMP received a report of a stolen black and white Kodak Playsport digital camcorder from a residence on Kit Cres.
There was no evidence of a break and enter. Police have notified local pawn shops and are still investigating.
Police responded to a domestic assault between a homeless couple in the downtown area at 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 24. A woman struck a man with a bottle and was arrested and charged with assault. The man suffered only minor injuries.
Drunk driver caught urinating
An officer on patrol on Willis Rd. came across a vehicle parked on the shoulder by Nikola Rd. and saw a female driver exit the vehicle and urinate in the ditch at 9 p.m. on Aug. 23.
The officer investigated and determined she was impaired. She was issued a 90 day immediate roadside prohibition and the vehicle was towed and impounded.
Red car stolen
A red four-door 1998 Chevrolet Malibu was reported stolen from a condo complex at 872 Island Highway at 3 p.m. on Aug. 24.
The vehicle is insured but did not have licence plates on it. Anyone with information on this theft is asked to contact Campbell River RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
Youth on roof
Officers responded to a complaint of four youths on the roof of Southgate School at 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 24. The youths were apprehended and their parents spoken with. They were let off with a warning as no damage was done to the school.
