Wrong number equals busted
A Campbell River RCMP officer in the Community Response Unit received a phone call from a man trying to purchase $100 worth of drugs on Aug. 6.
The officer quickly realized that the man had dialed the wrong number, and arranged a meeting. A short time later, the man called the officer again to confirm the meeting and asked if the officer would trade some oxycodone for the $100 worth of drugs.
The officer then met with the suspect a short time later and effected an arrest. While searching the suspect the officer seized a concealed weapon.
Police are currently seeking charge approval for weapons charges against a 37-year-old Campbell River man.
