Quadra dump truck crash
Quadra Island RCMP are investigating a dump truck accident that happened on Wed. Aug. 10 on Quadra Island.
The accident happened just before 10 a.m. on Heriot Bay Rd., just south of Animal Farm Rd., according to Cst. Martin Neveu.
A dump truck was driving along the road with the dumper up. The dumper then caught on overhead utility wires, which caused the truck to overturn, said Neveu.
He said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
While Quadra Island RCMP got the accident site cleared by 2 p.m. that afternoon, they are still investigating whether it was a mechanical or human error, according to Neveu.
“We’re still investigating, and we’re still following up and trying to figure out what happened,” said Neveu.
