Tourism tweet set for tomorrow

Learn the do’s and don’ts of tweeting on Twitter and other social media from Tourism Campbell River & Region’s Tourism Advisory Committee (TAC).

The TAC Social Media session will be held tomorrow from 6:30-8 p.m. at Dolphins Resort and will highlight the basic do’s and don’ts of social networking, frequency and content of materials as well as how to run a successful contest and giveaway campaign.

There are 40 session spots available for this free evening of engagement.

Participants of all levels are encouraged to take notes, and bring discussion questions, handouts will also be provided. RSVP by e-mailing teresa.davis@rivercorp.ca .

Carmen Amberson, TAC Member and Dolphins Operations Manager, is seeing real success in her social media marketing and will enlighten attendees on the simplicity and benefits of social media.

“With Campbell River businesses promoting the community in a positive light, they are creating a buzz, a great environment for people to learn about and visit,” Amberson says. “Working in conjunction with all of the industry stakeholders to join together to promote Campbell River through social media is one of the goals of the Tourism Advisory Committee.”

Teresa Davis the Tourism Campbell River & Region Marketing Manager says, “Momentum builds when we strive for the same objectives.”

The 2011 Tourism Advisory Committee is represented by members from accommodations, adventure tourism, arts and culture, food and beverage, media promotion, regional tourism and technology. They convene to provide advice, support and new ideas for the regional marketing strategy.
