Police and dog nab suspect
In the early morning of May 14, RCMP received a report that a man was seen checking out vehicles on Cheviot Road and Fairway Drive.
It was shortly after 1:20 a.m., when officers and the police responded to the area and nabbed a 50-year-old suspect. The investigation confirmed that the man was in possession of a wallet and medication that belonged to someone else.
He was arrested and then advised that he had stolen the items from a vehicle on Sandtrap Drive. All the items were returned to the owner. Charges are pending.

The man was described as 5’8”, medium build, dark hair, wearing a grey jacket with a red stripe. The man fled without stealing anything. Officers and a police dog conducted a search but could not find the suspect.
Mom calls cops on son
On May 10, at 2:41 a.m., a 41-year-old woman reported that her 24-year-old son and his friend took her vehicle without consent and that he had no driver’s licence.
Investigating officers followed up and discovered that the pair had used the vehicle to transport a stolen ATV. The two suspects then returned to the complainant’s residence with a stolen 2009 Honda Quad. Both males fled when they saw police. The stolen quad was seized and two are facing charges.
