Stolen truck found

A stolen truck may have been used to commit other property crime, police say.

The red 1996 Dodge pickup was stolen from the parking lot beside Discovery Pier on April 26. Later that day, the truck was found in the parking lot besides JJ’s Pub.

“It is believed that this vehicle was stolen to commit other property crimes,” said RCMP Sgt. Craig Massey.

On April 24, police responded to two thefts in the 100 block of McPhedran Rd. The initial report pertained to the theft of a 9.9 hp Honda outboard motor. The motor was found the following day and was returned to the owner. The second matter involved the theft of a Yamaha Kodiak quad. The quad had been rolled away from the residence, but was found a short distance away in a wooded area. Both incidents are under investigation.
