Holiday gifts and homemade goods from Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society are available Saturday, Nov. 24 in Merville.

MARS will be set up at the Merville Hall Community Craft Fair from 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.,  then come on down the road to our Open House for “a cuppa” refreshments and meet MARS Ambassadors until 4 p.m.

We are hosting this Holiday Open House in order to help raise some much needed funds for the new migrating birds who have been admitted to the wildlife centre. Back by popular demand - HOT Chocolates Flying Eagles!

But get them quick because these are an endangered species, both in Dark and Milk chocolate.

New this year is Royston Roasting Company’s freshly roasted coffee with MARS’ new logo.

This coffee will be available for sampling at our Open House and for sale at MARS and through ScotiaBank in Comox. When you see MARS’ logo you know that the funds raised are “helping (MARS) wildlife recover”.

Then on Saturday, Dec. 8, MARS is planning “WINTER WINGS”, an art show and sale at Whyte’s Framing and Gallery on Lazo Rd in Comox from 12 – 4 p.m.

This art event, featuring local artists’ wildlife work will be on display for sale for the remainder of the week at Whyte’s.

Various local artists such as Zita Kenny, Steve Williamson, Helen Gamble, Dan Delucry, Judy Wild and W. Allan Hancock will be displaying their works, all for sale with a portion of the proceeds going to support MARS.

Once again, our ambassadors will be in attendance on Saturday.

Anyone interested in displaying art for sale in this show, please contact Maj at 250-337-2021.  Hang a piece of local art on your wall in support of wildlife.  Great Holiday gift giving ideas begin with MARS!
