At Sybil Andrews Day at the Museum there will be the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the nearly completed new graphic novel by Laura Ellyn about Sybil Andrews.

The Museum at Campbell River will be hosting the annual Sybil Andrews Day on April 19 from 1-4 p.m.

In 2007, the City of Campbell River proclaimed April 19, the artist’s birthday, to be Sybil Andrews Day.

Sybil Andrews Day has traditionally been celebrated at the Sybil Andrews Cottage, but this year with the opportunity to see the new exhibit, Sybil Andrews in Campbell River, the museum was a natural fit to host.

This event will include a preview of the graphic novel Modernism in Two Worlds: The Sybil Andrews Story produced by the Campbell River Arts Council and author Laura Ellyn. There will also be a showing of a videotaped greeting from the students of the newly opened Sybil Andrews Academy in England. Exhibit curator Ken Blackburn will be available to answer questions about the works on display in the gallery.

Refreshments will be served, including birthday cake, and everyone is welcome. For more information about this event contact the Museum at Campbell River at 250-287-3103 or www.crmuseum.ca . The Museum is located at 470 Island Highway.
