Marianas Trench has postponed their scheduled Nov. 3 Victoria concert.

New dates scheduled for Yoakam and Trench

Separate fall dates for veteran country standby and Canadian power pop rockers have been reset for the new year

Two acts expected to rock Save On Foods Centre in Victoria this fall have said “catch you later.”

First, country standby Dwight Yoakam cancelled his Oct. 29 show just one day ahead of time, citing “unforeseeable circumstances beyond his control.”

Then Canadian power posters Marianas Trench followed suit, pulling the plug on their scheduled Thursday night gig and nine others shows on Oct. 28 because of illness.

“No one is more disappointed about this than I am,” frontman Josh Ramsay said in a media release. “My throat infection and resulting scar tissue is serious enough that my doctor’s diagnosis was for me to not sing a note until the New Year.

“However, I can’t handle this forcing me to cancel a second tour in a row completely, so I’ve chosen to postpone the first half of the tour to give my voice a little extra time to recuperate. With enough vocal rest and medicine, I should be back in fighting shape in no time. Hope to see you all soon!”

The Victoria concert has been rescheduled to Feb. 12. Meanwhile, the Yoakam concert has been rescheduled for Jan. 12.

According to a statement released by the Save On Foods Centre tickets for each of the original dates will be valid for the original shows.

Those who purchased tickets over the phone or internet and may not be able attend the rescheduled dates can contact Select Your Tickets for refund at 250-220-7777. Those who purchased in person requesting a refund will have to visit the box office in person with their ticket(s).

Refunds for the Yoakam show will only be accepted until end of day business day, Nov. 30.
