Brodie Dawson (left) and Luke Blu Guthrie kick off a live music series at the Royal Coachman in Campbell River on April 15.

Enjoy an awesome evening of live music over dinner, in the upstairs Carriage Room of the Royal Coachman this Saturday, April 15 at 6 p.m.

Treat yourself to an evening with two of Vancouver Islands finest musicians, Luke Blu Guthrie and Brodie Lee Dawson, a dynamic duo with exceptional musical talents, performing the latest stylings of their original tunes.

Dawson has been touring several years with her band She Could Be Trouble, who were nominated the best live act at the 2013 and 2014 Vancouver Island Music Awards (VIMA). In 2014, Dawson won Vocalist of The Year at the VIMA Awards. Dawson’s voice seduces you with a bluesy, funky, smokey overtone, telling story with her original songs laced with truth, humour and soul. A stage presence that is real, raw, charming and silly that by the end of the evening you will feel you have known Dawson forever.

Guthrie is a seasoned performer and well-loved on Vancouver Island and beyond. At a time when so many young musicians struggle to find an authentic representation of self in their music, the charismatic Guthrie is a beacon of originality. Deeply soulful and passionately committed to creating and sharing his music, Guthrie has been an integral part of the Vancouver Island Music scene for over a decade. Luke is widely respected for his versatility and skill as songwriter, vocalist and guitar musician.

Advance tickets for $18 are available at the Royal Coachman Pub ($20 at the door). Doors open at 6 p.m. with full menu selection of cuisine and beverages. Performance begins at 7 p.m.
