Artists at work Saturday
Two well-known Campbell River artists will be at work at the Campbell River Art Gallery Christmas Arts and Crafts Market Saturday, Nov. 17
Carole Goodwin and Jill Paris Rody will be in the Gallery from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17 demonstrating their creativity.
Both artists have work featured in this year’s Market.
Goodwin, originally from Duncan, has spent her entire life on Vancouver Island and enjoys exploring the diverse beauty of this area in her paintings.
“If flower, wood and water is the story my paintings tell, then colour is the strong clear voice of my expression,” she said.
Goodwin’s boldly coloured floral and landscape paintings reflect not only her love of nature, but also her belief in our abiding oneness with all things. Her work is featured in the Sundance Java Coffee Shop and is owned by private collectors across North America and beyond.
She and Paris Rody have developed a friendship over the past five years based on their mutual love of art and appreciation of the natural and spiritual beauty of life. Paris Rody, originally from Oregon, has lived in the Oyster River area for more than 37 years. She enjoys the rural settings of the Comox Valley and the shorelines of the Campbell River area.
Colour, texture and line, and their subtle nuances, intrigue her and she is a perpetual student of landscape and the emotion it evokes.
Her work is also owned by private collectors worldwide and is featured in Corners Picture Framing in Campbell River.
The CR Art Gallery’s Christmas Arts and Crafts Market, sponsored by Chan, Nowosad and Boates, Chartered Accountants, is open from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Christmas Eve.
