This week, Campbell River’s Discovery Passage Aquarium will be hosting guest speakers Dave Ewart and Mel Sheng, both retired from DFO Salmon Enhancement Program.
The event takes place on Wednesday, March 15 at the Maritime Heritage Centre, Campbell River. This month’s topic is Salmon Enhancement on Vancouver Island. Ewart and Sheng will be talking about a variety of salmon enhancement projects carried out on Vancouver Island, highlighting local examples and perspectives. They will also talk about the combined efforts in the watershed to restore Chinook populations and habitat in the Campbell, while increasingly being challenged by climate change and unpredictable weather events.
Admission is by donation, doors open 6:30 p.m. Talk starts at 7 p.m.
