Chas Maria Chapter #76 will be holding its annual book sale on April 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Old Post Office at Tyee Plaza.
Cancer is the Order of the Eastern Star charity throughout the province and they supply free cancer dressings to patients (available from the Health Unit), cancer equipment to their hospital and medical books. Over the years they have raised thousands of dollars for these projects through their book sales and they again ask for your support. But they won’t want any Readers Digests, condensed books or National Geographics. They invite all avid readers to come and get their supply of good reading material for those lazy days of summer and, if you wish to donate books, call Eveline at 250-923-9203 or Margaret at 250-923-1760 to arrange pick up or delivery.
The winner of the 50/50 raffle was drawn on Sunday, March 11 and ticket #225 belonging to C. Tsaros won a total of $2,308. 60.
