Jaqueline Spies, of the Campbell River Hospice Society, accepts a cheque for $1,500 from the River Spirit and Bravehearts dragon boat teams as well as Leith Paganoni, a representative from Marine Harvest. The money was raised at the annual Race the River dragon boat regatta event at the end of June. Marine Harvest sponsored the salmon barbecue that took place at the event. Since the new hospice building is fully paid for, the money will go to support programming done through the society.
