Food bank competes for Kraft cash

Campbell River and District Food Bank Society has been chosen as one of 100 food banks in Canada for the opportunity to receive donations from the Kraft Food for Families program.

By simply adding your name online at Campbell River residents and supporters of the food bank can help.

For each endorsement the food bank receives, Kraft Food for Families will donate 50 cents to the food bank.

Voting can be done daily until Dec. 31.

Food bank manager Debbie Willis says: “We have not decided how to use these funds, but you can rest assured we will put them to very good use.

“We are up against 20 other food banks in our Pacific region and if our food bank receives the most online names we will receive an additional $5,000 in support from Kraft Food for Families.

“The competition is in its infancy, but already several of our fellow food banks have taken the lead over us. We hope to change that soon.”
