Storm of support: Fitness Etc. was the game day sponsor for the Campbell River Storm vs Comox Valley Glacier Kings on Nov. 11 so owner Chad Braithwaite decided he would do a fundraiser for the BC Children’s Hospital in honor of Aya Walcot who is suffering from a rare disease called Mowatt-Wilson Syndrome of which there are only 170 cases worldwide. Aya has had eight surgeries in her short life (1.5-year-old) one of which was open heart surgery. She continues to beat the odds and has a promising future thanks in large part to the BC Childrens Hospital. On this day not only did the Storm break their losing streak, the Storm fan base helped raise $1,045.38 for the hospital.
